La prima esposizione a Messina, di opere d'arte a carattere museale, avvenne nel lontano 1806, nell'antico monastero di S.Gregorio distrutto dal terremoto del 1908. Dopo il cataclisma le opere, che fu possibile recuperare, vennero sistemate in una ex filanda sita nella spianata di S.Salvatore dei Greci, all'inizio della litoranea che da Messina conduce ai laghi di Gansirri e Faro.

neutral  Guereau: "muséal" existe bel et bien en français, sans doute par transposition de l'italien. Pour les oeuvres, on parlera de "oeuvres de qualité musée". Mais OK pour 'esplanade'.
