La targa infame
In fondo a Corso Palladio, sotto i portici dell’attuale libreria Traverso, si può ancora trovare traccia del massacro che avvenne nel luglio del 1548. Ecco la storia: Isabetta da Roma, rimasta vedova, si innamora follemente di Alberto Valmarana, di vent’anni più giovane. Alberto la rifiuta in tutti i modi e allora Isabetta aizza i fratelli Galeazzo e Leonardo, dal temperamento più che aggressivo, a lavare nel sangue l’umiliazione. I due, insieme a un gruppo di briganti, irrompono in casa dei Valmarana e fanno fuori brutalmente Alberto, suo fratello Niccolò, la madre e due servi, dopodiché passano anche dal notaio Monza, stretto amico dei Valmarana, e ammazzano anche lui. Le autorità nella perquisizione della casa dei da Roma rinvengono vario materiale esoterico, libretti e alambicchi alchemici.
Viene messa una taglia sui criminali, la casa rasa al suolo e apposta la targa.

Die Bedeutung ist eindeutig Schandsäule, aber warum wurde es dann "targa" und nicht "colonna" genannt???
