Gemäldegalerie Explanation: Ich konnte nur It-Eng www. finden, The Gallerie dell'Accademia represents the most important collection of Venetian painting in the world. It was founded in 1750, as art-gallery for the use of the Accademia di Belle Arti; following the Napoleon suppressions, it became a public picture-gallery. The Gallerie are housed in the architectonic complex formed by the former church, monastery and scuola della Carità, result of the work of famous architects such as Bartolomeo Bon and Andrea Palladio; the museum keeps masterpieces of incredible artistic and historic importance, such as The Tempest by Giorgione, the Legend of St. Orsola cycle by Carpaccio, the Banquet at Levi's house by Veronese, the Pietà, the last work by Titian, and various masterpieces by Giambellino, Cima da Conegliano and almost all Venetian masters from XVI to XVIII century. On the last floor of the Gallerie, the long corridor of the Palladian monastery has been recently used as Quadreria (picture-gallery), that is a place where important works usually kept in the deposits of the museum are on show.
