Italian to German translations [Non-PRO]
Art/Literary
Italian term or phrase: sopita
Sopita l’ira della contesa appoggiavano la spada al muro
Kann mir jemand den Satz übersetzen? In meinem Wörterbuch ist sopita= beschwichtigen, und ira und contesa= Streit, das hat aber wenig Sinn!

German translation:Explananation!!
Explanation:
My husband (Italian teacher at a school for translators) tells me:

sopita=besänftigen
contesa=Streit
ira=Wut

German is a foreign language for me, so I cannot suggest a good translation, but the meaning is the following:

Translated literally:

The rage of their fight having lessened, (the warriors?) rested their swords on the wall.

Sorry I can't be more useful.
But if it is an exerpt from something famous, you may be able to find a German translation somewhere on the net!
