Man kann nicht nur Substantive deklinieren, sondern auch Farben, siehe:
Das geschieht in dem Sonett „Le rose“, das einen ähnlichen Überbietungsvergleich wie „La rose-thé“, entwickelt,
übrigens noch ausdrücklicher, zumal das Sonett mit Versen beginnt, die gleichsam programmatisch die Nuancen der
Farbe „rose“ deklinieren: „Je connais tous les tons de la gamme du rose,/Laque, pourpre, carmin, cinabre et vermillon.“

"Deklination" waere im Deutschen in diesem Zusammenhang ein wenig hochtrabend, daher finde ich "Abstufung" den passenderen Ausdruck.
