Japanese term or phrase: 糠につけるのに
Dear ProZ members,

I have another problem about the guy of this question:
https://www.proz.com/kudoz/japanese_to_english/cinema_film_t...
(He usually annoys people with tedious and false monologues.)

Some friends of his are talking about rice bran used for tsukemono. Here's the dialogue:

Friend A: どんなお味なんでしょう
(I wonder how does it taste.)

Friend B: 糠自体は食べないよ。そこにいろいろつけるの
(You don't eat rice bran alone. You put various things on it.)

Annoying guy: 糠につけるのに一番いいのはヘリコプターでね。NASAでは毎年...
(The best thing to put on rice bran is a helicopter. Every year, at NASA...)

And then he gets interrupted by a helicopter flying over his head. I was wondering: is the last sentence pure nonsense or is there a pun I'm missing?

Thank you!

No pun. But it's quite interesting that the annoying guy got interrupted by a helicopter right after he talked about pickling a helicopter.

By the way, what Friend B said is like "You don't eat rice bran lees. You pickle various things in them." Then the annoying guy says, "The best thing to pickle is ..."
