This one looks good Explanation: This expression is used mostly by girls (or women) who usually say this phrase to imply that "this one looks good" without implying any doubt in what they are saying. There is also the other meaning "This one looks better" if a comparison is being made at that time. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 21 mins (2013-03-20 04:47:26 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- I do not think there is any doubt expressed by this phrase. It is never used as a question or a doubt, but just as an opinion, that too a positive opinion. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 31 mins (2013-03-20 04:57:10 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Just compare the two: 1. "ねー、見て、こんなのいいかも” 2. "こんなのいいかしら” The second one expresses some doubt, not the first one. |

this could be good Explanation: 「かも」doesn't necessarily express doubt, but is used to express indecision at times. When i hear 「こんなのいいかも」I picture a conversation between a person and another person, like at a store trying to decide on an item and thus suggesting an item to the other person. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr (2013-03-20 05:37:54 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- i forgot to include "possibly". "This could (possibly) be good"/this could work, etc..but depends on what "this" is |

I kind of like it. Explanation: I would like to see the context, but this expression is almost always on the affirmative. The person definitely thinks it is good, but is still shopping. |
