Japanese term or phrase:問えないこと
What is the meaning of '問えないこと' in the following sentence?
Explanation: It seems to me to be literal. We cannot ask how many eigenvalues there are (note that, for an infinite dimensional space, a linear endomorphism may have infinitely many eigenvalues). So they can't count them in a simple finistic way.
I don't like "to analyze", since it can be analyzed.
