Japanese to English translations [PRO] Other
Japanese term or phrase:浅部
Planned to work 09:00 to 16:30 (Entrance 08:30, Exit 17:00) at water area. Working details are to check the conditions in the water area, superficial area, and the land area, and to check the existing benchmark. Site reconnaissance → Multibeam sounding
Here are some examples where either term is preferable.
You say "shallow grave" not superficial.
"Superficial injury" is better but "shallow wound" and "superficial wound" are interchangeable.
You say "shallow water", "shallow pool", "shallow sea", "shallow container", etc. as this is describing the depth.
