Actually, I'm guessing it's suspend, but I don't know the context. There are two readings for chuushi (the Romanization differs, but it's the same as chushi, though I can't write the kanji here, so.....). One means suspend or stop (kanji are chuu for naka or middle and shi or tomaru for stop). The other means gaze or observe (two kanji again, chuu as in chuui for caution and shi as in kanshi for monitoring).
