It's just the Latin name for an Alpine plant, but does it have an English name?(I have found French, Italian and German names for it!)

lamarck, a french botanist, named this species
now you must find which one it is exactly
helped because i was born in savoie (french alps), i must have seen a lot but never knew what it is called

Thanks, further searching tells me its the giant knapweed, and rare, if no endangered. It is for the translation of the Vanoise Nat Park web-site. (It is not the subspecies lamarckii).
