a pagan god ?? / Vles, Veles Explanation: I'm not sure at all, but since I didn't find волес at all in Macedonian sources, but exclusively in russian ones, I tried to decipher those (would have been easier for elisabeth, but she isn't here at the moment), and from those I get the impression, that both велез and волес are forms of the name of a pagan god. Since you read Russian as well, you might find the references useful.
