If you google it you might find child care (9.28 million), child-care (5.3 million), and childcare (2.6 million) in that order (North American bias). use the \"site:.[country code]\" flag for the target locale for better numbers. So if you google \"childcare site:.uk\" you get 654,000 hits, and if you google \"child-care site:.uk\" you get about 900,000 hits. If you try \"child care site:.uk\" you get 1.3 million hits. However I suspect that a great many of the \"child care\" hits are false positives.

I suspect a style manual from Oxford might say \'child-care\' and from Chicago \'childcare\' Nonetheless any one the three is would be recognizable to either American or British English reader/speaker.
