Mongolian to English translations [PRO]
Transport / Transportation / Shipping / Ulaan Baatar
Mongolian term or phrase: холхон
Greetings,

I think I understand this sentence more or less:
Холхон болохоор унаагаар явах хэрэгтэй.

“As it’s far it's necessary to go by a means of transport.” This would be my translation.

However, doesn't хол on its own mean “far”? So what is the purpose of the suffix хон, please?

All the best,

Simon

English translation:not so close
Explanation:
Adding the suffix "-хон" creates a diminutive form of the main word "хол". In other words, "холхон" is closer than "хол".
