middle current? 23:27 Mar 16, 2018
You do throw up some tough but interesting ones, David! :-) Not at all sure this is correct. I'm putting it out for discussion for the moment because I will not have the time to research or contribute much, if anything, in the next few days.
I found one English text written by Norwegian researchers with the sentence "the scatter current in the middle of the water column", but I suspect scatter current is a literal and incorrect translation of spredningsstrøm; however, it does refer to "the middle of the water column", and this is what middle current seems to be all about in sources I am finding from Scottish aquatic farms (data tables showing surface, middle, and bottom currents). In the Norwegian sources, the depths given for spredningsstrøm are clearly between surface and bottom. Well, obviously that's where they have to be! I simply mean there are depths associated with the measurements of spredningsstrøm, so it doesn't mean anything really obscure. |
