brannbelastning

In this context (it's a piece on smoke detectors)
"Hold kjeller og loft ryddige uten unødig brannbelastning".
I assume it means fire hazards or substances likely to catch fire. Belastning as "weight" "strain" or "load" doesn't seem to fit. Can anyone advise?
TIA

Your interpretation is correct. The "belastning"-bit is a metaphor. Basically, it's a "do not tempt fate"-statement.
