Norwegian to English translations [PRO] Tech/Engineering - Construction / Civil Engineering / blasting work
Norwegian term or phrase:fjellbånd
Not sure that this is - in a heading that says 'arbeidssikring med fjellbånd og nett'.
Next: prosessen omfatter levering og montering av fjellbånd og nett i på forhånd innsatte bolter.
I don't think it is split sets, because split sets refers to a type of rock bolt. see http://www.splitset.com/rock-bolts.html. Fjellbaand seems to refer to see snubba.hin.no/dvvg2005/2005.04.28/KMtunneler.pdf a band or strip or the like.
Hi Helen: I think you might be on to something: "The initial ground support of rock bolts, lightweight steel sets, and reinforced concrete was later supplemented with an array of 6-, 12- and 21-m tensioned, grouted rock bolts"
Found a potentially useful reference on google (blasting), although US English where, referring to 'bad rock', it says: ...'When finally installed, the rock support would likely consite of * split sets and screen * (mesh). Could this be the answer, as I'm after 'fjellbånd og net'?
This answer with adhesive no longer stands - but I think Helen has found something with the split sets. I found this link: http://www.agapito.com/hard_rock_abstracts.htm which mentions them in connection with concrete. After having hidden this answer I also looked at "rock anchor" as possibility, but I still can't come up with a definitive answer...
Fjellbånd er benyttet som armering i sprøytebetongen for å etablere såkalte sprøytebetongbuer, men verken armeringstverrsnitt eller tykkelse på sprøytebetong var i nærheten av det som vanligvis benyttes for etablering av ribbe
