Attorney General, Office of the Attorney General
Explanation:
The nearest equivalent in US English is possibly "Solicitor General". However, "Attorney General" is the official translation of "Regjeringsadvokaten" in Norway.
As the office that represents the state in legal matters, it is at least partly equivalent to the use of this title in the UK (see for example the definition in the OED).
It is unfortunate that the title is used differently in the US, where the Attorney General is the head of the Department of Justice. However, the title was originally British.

Another example of a confusing title is "statssekretær", which in Norway is a political post under a minister (translated "State Secretary"). In the UK, a Secretary of State is a minister. In the US, it is the head of the State Department.
