Persian (Farsi) to English translations [PRO] Art/Literary - Idioms / Maxims / Sayings
Persian (Farsi) term or phrase:با پا راه بری کفش پاره میشه، با سر کلاه
As you have already seen, there can be disagreement 1)on what the Persian means and 2)no real equivalent in English
Everyone knows at least a few proverbs, but I don't think we will find anyone who knows this many.
I have done a lot of searching in the past for proverbs and I found it especially difficult to locate them. This is because you have to try a number of possible topic words that may be in a proverb. And many times the "subject" of a proverb is not actually in the proverb.
For example, "a stitch in time saves nine" is about preventive action to stop a bad situation from becoming worse. But you would never find it by looking for "prevention".
Anyhow, good luck on the project. I will offer suggestions where I think they make sense.
We aren't searching for their literal translations

Dear Edward, Thanks for your guidance, but since literal translation of sayings does not actually mean translating (!), we are not searching for their literal translations, and many of their English equivalents have not been provided in that link. Actually we are looking for their English equivalents.
We need these sayings for a term project.
Thanks for your warm regard.
