brown-rot decay Explanation: wydaje mi się, że chodzi o to -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 41 mins (2012-11-21 18:43:33 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- ''Many of the brown-rot fungi produce bracket-shaped fruitbodies on the trunks of dead trees, but the characteristic feature of these fungi is that the decaying wood is brown and shows brick-like cracking – a result of the uneven pattern of decay, causing the wood to split along lines of weakness (See Fig. 2). The term ‘brown rot’ refers to the characteristic colour of the decayed wood, because most of the cellulose and hemicelluloses are degraded, leaving the lignin more or less intact as a brown, chemically modified framework.'' http://www.biology.ed.ac.uk/archive/jdeacon/FungalBiology/wo... brown discoloration (of wood/sapwood) Explanation: Inna propozycja - byłabym raczej za "discoloration" (discolouration w BrE), gdyż rozkład drewna w brunatnicy nie zawsze występuje, może być jedynie w fazie początkowej (brunatnica nie jest jeszcze zgnilizną). Poniżej link do artykułu na temat tego wlaśnie grzybu, który przyczynia się do brown discoloration of (...) pine wood: Investigations on the brown discoloration of Scots Pine wood in Poland caused by the fungus Discula brunneo-tingens. http://www.cabdirect.org/abstracts/19700607033.html;jsession... |
