Explanation:
The cultural script approach is a technique to describe cultural norms, values, and practices in a clear and precise way, that can be understood by cultural insiders as well as outsiders (Goddard and Wierzbicka 2004, pg. 153). This approach is developed from the NSM approach, with the only difference that the Cultural Scripts are used to outline the cultural norms implemented in a particular cultural group. This cultural script approach has been used in many linguistic papers to avoid ethnocentricism and enhance objectivity in analyzing various norms and values in different cultures http://www.academia.edu/1933907/The_Use_of_Honorifics_and_Th...

-----------

Another study done by Goddard and Wierzbicka (2004:153) discusses cultural scripts as a technique for describing more detailed topics in ethnopragmatics. They do not only study cultural words but also speech acts. Using semantic primes (Goddard in Goddard and Wierzbicka, 2004:155), Goddard and Wierzbicka (2004:155) can show that there may be a universality in languages. According to Goddard and Wierzbicka (2004:157), cultural scripts are used to show what underlies norms, what the social members should do and feel in thought, action, feeling, and speech in a certain cultural situation. - https://goo.gl/CFzv8W - page 2

--------

For the purpose of clarity, the cultural scripts that are used to represent speech norms are written using the NSM. NSM comprises a set of semantic primes or words which are indefinable and found in all languages - https://goo.gl/ibuOoA

------

The term “cultural scripts” is used to refer to tacit norms and values widely shared, and widely known (on an intuitive level) in a given society. In a more technical sense, it is also used to refer to a powerful technique for articulating cultural norms and values in terms which are clear, precise, and accessible to both cultural insiders and cultural outsiders - https://www.peterlang.com/view/9783653013535/9783653013535.0...
