Homemade kojarzy mi się np. z samodzielnie wykonanym stolikiem, czy też lampką zrobioną z puszki po konserwach itp., ale jeżeli ktoś wziął np. parę urządzeń i połączył je jakoś nietypowo, np. kamerę cyfrową z jakimś ekranem, żeby uzyskać prosty monitoring, to będzie to dalekie od ogólnego wyobrażenia urządzenia zrobionego od zera we własnym zakresie.
