To dotyczy systemu HARM, czyli targeting system. 'Targeting system' może być tłumaczony dwojako: jako system celowniczy lub system namierzania.
'Sighting system' to 'system celowniczy'.
Tutaj wszystko zależy, o który dokładnie system chodzi.

No to w takim razie raczej 'targeting'. Np. LANTRIN Lockheeda-Martina to 'navigation and targeting system', czyli system nawigacji i celowniczy lub nawigacji i namierzania. Skoro w Twoim tekście 'celowniczy' sąsiaduje z 'nawigacją', to stawiałbym na 'targeting'.

agree  Andrzej Lejman: ale namierzanie i celowanie to dwie przeciwstawne czynności, więc nie można ich utożsamiać. BTW, właśnie tłumaczę manual do systemu kierowania ogniem artyleryjskim ;-)
