Poznań is a city in the west of Poland, called Posen by the Germans.

Wojciech is a man's name meaning "one who likes to fight." The prefix woj- signifies fighting ("war" is "wojna") the ending -ciech means one who is made happy by something. ("Uciecha" is something that makes one happy.)
