wild service tree
Explanation:
The first of February 2001 I will start a three year long Ph.D. study at the Royal Veterinary and Agicultural University in Copenhagen, department of ecology, section of botany. The subject for my study is vegetation ecology and more specifically I am going to investigate the distribution of the Wild service tree (Sorbus torminalis) (the English name originates from "cerevisia" which is Latin for beer as the fruits were previously used to sweeten a drink called "Chequers". Many English pubs have the name Chequers and also a wild service tree in their grounds).

You may find the origin of the name interesting
