Here in Polan we have two types of birth certificates - one full transcript from the records of birth, deaths and marriages and their shoetened versions. The full version goes to many details, such as the time of birth, name of the midwife responsible for the birth etc., which are of no use for everyday needs of identification of a person. A full transcript is onle required when there might be a doubt of identification.
You may need it when your're getting married or obtaining a passport. Otherwise, a shortened version is acceptable. I hope that explains everything to you.
