expressions of speech Explanation: I'd suggest omitting "individual" because it doesn't mean the same thing in Portuguese. Nor does it mean their particular personal expressions or their unique expressions of speech. Here's a try: "With this purpose in mind, an effort has been made to respect the political and cultural integrity of the Indians and to confer on their expressions of speech the legitimate status of "language." |
