bond debt, securities debt, bonds issued and outstanding Explanation: It's clear from the sentence that follows - A colocação de títulos pós-fixados e as elevadas taxas de juros internas estão entre os principais fatores do acréscimo. The divida mobiliaria went up both because the government marketed or placed or issued ("colocado") more bonds and the interest rate they had to pay on those bonds to attract buyers went up. So the government unit (local state or federal) not only borrowed more principal by issuing more bonds, but also they're paying higher interest rates to the bond holders. Of course if in the same year they somehow had retired a lot of debt (bought back bonds, or paid off lots of bonds that had matured) then the divida mobiliaria might not have gone up - the new issues would have been more than offset by the matured old issues, except for the effect of differing interest rates. I don't want to sound like a financial expert - I'm skating around the edge of that field, just for lack of practice. |
