Em setembro de 2016, substituímos a professora que ficou doente na turma de crianças mais velhas da associação, o grupo chamado de “CCC”, e, desde então, assumimos a responsabilidade de professora auxiliar até o fim do ano letivo, em junho de 2017.
Na época, o grupo contava com onze crianças e nosso trabalho era ajudar as que apresentavam mais dificuldade para realizar as atividades escritas, além de auxiliar a professora titular na preparação de aulas e projetos.

O termo 'professor titular' aplica-se mais ao nível universitário:
"Professor catedrático (pt) ou professor titular (pt-BR) é categoria mais elevada da carreira docente universitária em Portugal e no Brasil..." (Wikipedia)
Acabei de falar com 3 professoras amigas minhas do Brasil (do nível fundamental), só para ter certeza de que a minha resposta está correta. A de Curitiba e a de Brasília disseram que lá se usa mais professor 'regente' de turma, mas a de SP falou que lá se usa também professor titular a nível fundamental. Esse tipo de professor responsabiliza-se por uma certa turma, embora ensine também em outras. É isso exatamente que faz o 'homeroom teacher' na América do Norte.
