Portuguese term or phrase: acionista (in this context)
Given the context, I'm wondering if "acionista" (at the very end) might refer to 'claim holders', rather than 'shareholders'. What do you think?

shareholder
Explanation:
I understand your doubt that somehow "acionista" could be a plaintiff to a lawsuit (ação) but I've never seen it described with this word in all my years of PT-EN legal translations.

Other terms for Plaintiff:

• autor, reclamante, demandante, requerente,
postulante, suplicante, parte ativa, parte autora,
polo ativo, acionado. 􀃆 plaintiff, claimant,
complainant, demandant

Thanks, Gilmar. I went with 'shareholder' after all. Safer.
