agree  Fabio Said: Ich habe »Begründung« vorgeschlagen, aber da habe ich mich geirrt (deliberação/liberação). Der Vorschlag »in Sache« scheint hier wirklich der beste zu sein. :-)

Explanation:
So ohne weiteren Kontext würde ich sagen, »renúncia« kann nur Verzicht sein, aber »causa« müsste m.E. Begründung sein - z.B. Begründung für die Freigabe (»liberação«).
