Portuguese term or phrase: Sociedade por quotas

"Sociedade por quotas" & " Sociedade Anonima" - these are company terms as in (PTY) LTD etc. - the first one has something to do with limited liabilty or something to that effect - I am looking for the exact translation word for word and then the proper way of phrasing it in English.

Sociedade Anonima=Corporation (Gr. Aktiengesellschaft-a company limited
by shares) whereas Sociedade par quotas=
general, ordinary partnership (offene Handelsgesellschaft
limitiert durch Einlage)

Sorry, about the German in brackets,
but it is an old habit of mine to go
back to the German, before translating
it into other languages)
