Portuguese term or phrase: Conselho Geral vs. A Direccao
From a public company's accounts:
Conselho Geral - Main Board?
A Direccao - Executive Committee?

The company has two Boards, apparently, with the Conselho Geral being the senior one and the Direccao charged with day-to-day operations. Both seem to be composed of Directors, not staff.

English translation:Board of directors, and executive board
Explanation:
I have never seen "conselho geral, in Brazilian Portuguese." But you didn't say which country this is. Whatever it is, the problem could be similar to the problem encountered by translators of Brazilian Portuguese, where we find both Conselho Administrativo (or Conselho de Administracao) and Diretoria in the same company. Among some of my top-level colleagues we're using Board of Directors, and Executive Board. The former is like the US board, but the latter is very hands-on. Members of the latter are "executive officers," include the CEO (Director-Presidente), and other hyphenated directors, indicating their functions. As for "Direccao," I usually translate that as "management" because when I encounter it, it does not refer to a specific body.

Board of Directors and (Executive) Management Committee

Explanation:
The first is like a 'legislative body' and the second like an 'executive body'. These are the standard translations, even though how companies are run are different from country to country.

It is possible for members of the Management Committee to also be members of the Board of Directors, all depends on the size of the company and other factors.

EXTRACT: The Board of Directors also reviews the budgets annually and establishes subscription prices based on the Management Committee recommendations.
