Curvas de nível: curvas de indiferença e isoquantas de produção
António Ribeiro
Local time: 20:56
English translation:level curves
Explanation:
In full: "Level curves: indifference curves and production isoquants..."

All three of these terms appear at the first web site: "Economics 100A: Level curves of functions. -- If f(x1,x2) is a function of the two variables x1 and x2, a level curve of f(x1,x2) is just a locus of points in the (x1,x2) along which f(x1,x2) takes on some
constant value, say the value of k. The equation of this level curve is therefore simply f(x1,x2) = k, where we may or may not want to solve for x2. For
example, the level curves of a consumer’s utility function are just her indifference curves (defined by the equation U(x1,x2) = u0), and the level curves of a firm’s production function are just the isoquants (defined by the equation f(K,L) = q0)..."

And the second site explains that the latter two terms are synonymous: "Graphically, we plot the budget line and production indifference curve (an isoquant) indicating that CCC can produce no more than 1,000 containers..."

(Is it any wonder economics is universally referred to as "the dismal science"??)

Cheers,
HC

regression curves

Explanation:

Contours or contour lines

Explanation:
