Portuguese to English translations [PRO]

Portuguese term or phrase: "Há mais de uma maneira pelar/descascar um gato".
I was originally thinking along the lines of "There's more than one way to skin a cat", but apparently in Portuguese that is "Quem não tem cachorro nem gato põe a cara no mato".
So that's obviously completely out of the question.
Any elucidation from any luminaries out there gratefully received.
