Portuguese term or phrase: a rede multibanco
"O Netpac é vocacionado para a utilização individual ou particular, com isenção de assinatura e carregamento através da rede multibanco."
Sue Simons
English translation:shared banking network
Explanation:
I am not at all sure of what I'm saying, and your context doesn't help much either. The only thing that springs to mind is that some banks in Brazil share an ATM network. Some banks prefer to have their own private ATMs, like Bradesco. Other ATMs are shared by many banks and therefore can be used by the customers of all these banks.
If that's what we are talking about, you night have to invent something like "multi-bank network" or "shared banking network".
Please double-check.
Good luck.

Yes, this is a general blurb on the Internet. But I agree it probably does have to do with ATM's although I thought at first it was some "multi" something else as it's a general text. Thanks so much Sue

from the participating bank site

Explanation:
I believe it is a software that one can download from any of the banks integrating a joint network (Netpac's!!).
So: "Netpac has its use directed to the individual, waiving brand signatures and downloadable from the participating bank site."

debit card payment

Explanation:
"Netpac is geared to an individual or particular user, with no fee payable or charged by debit card."
Multibanco - there isn't a card in the UK equivalent to this. In Portugal, Multibanco is used in purchages not by signing your name as in the back of the card, but by introducing your pin number in a special little box connected to every cash till.

Explanation:
This sentence is from Paper 2A (Technology) of the Dip Trans English into Portuguese 1998.

If you want to translate it correctly into portuguese (Portugal) you should read my answer again.

Telepac is a portuguese company so I think you should choose the translation that best corresponds to what it means in Portuguese.
