Portuguese term or phrase: ...motor de ecra
Yes, I know it's Portuguese, but given the fact that Portuguese has adopted many terms for the French.... Context is heating and cooling systems. (Note that the ecra has a 'tilde' on the A). Does the term seem familiar to anyone? Thanks in advance.

You're ubiquitious! Thanks, I felt it wasn't ECRA because of the tilde. I finally put 'screen motor' and a footnote, because your answer or HC's didn't arrive in time. Nevertheless I'm grateful

Explanation:
A motor used in heating and/or cooling systems would most likely be producing a fair amount of energy in the form of heat, which would be dissipated most efficiently through the use of cooling fins (for a common example, envision the engine of a high-powered motorcycle such as a Harley-Davidson, in which the cooling fins not only serve a practical purpose, but are also employed as a distinctive aesthetic element). A climate-control motor might well be enclosed in a screen-type housing, but in this case I'd expect the purpose of the housing to be to protect personnel from the motor's moving parts. Alternatively (and this interpretation is also supported by "ecra~"), it would also make sense for the motor in your context to be electrically shielded. -- Best, HC
