Portuguese to French translations [Non-PRO]
Portuguese term or phrase: C + S school
This is not Portuguese but it concerns a type of school in Portugal : the Eugenio de Castro C + S School
isabelle melis
French translation:See below
Explanation:
Since you posed your question in English, I will answer it likewise, because I am not as fluent in French.
The Portuguese shooling system used to be divided into 4 years of elementary school (primária), 2 years of middle school ("ciclo preparatório" or just plain "ciclo"), 6 years of secondary school (secundário), of which the first three were mandatory. Then a revision started, which found that the first three years of secondary school were closer to the middle school than to the remaining years of secondary school. So, the ministry decided to create C+S schools (C stands for "ciclo" S stands for "secundário"), which include the two middle school years plus the first three secondary school years. See the other explanation concerning cycles.
Incidentally, the Eugenio de Castro school in Coimbra was amongst the first ones, if not the first one, to become a c+s
