These measurements are official and the only accept by customs and Receita Federal. Nowadays, several automatic level gauges based on radar technology were installed, in order to improve, simplify and substitute the manual measurements. Trough the simple linear regression, the authors show how the automatic measurements can substitute, with some advantages for operation, the manual measurements made by dip-tapes, concerning the metrology. Resumo A medição de nível para transferência de custódia, oficialmente aceita pela Receita Federal e pelos compradores, é feita manualmente por trena. Atualmente, foram instaladas dezenas de medidores automáticos, tipo radar, para facilitar e tornar as medições mais seguras para a saúde e integridade do operador. Através da regressão linear e a adequação da curva aos mínimos quadrados, o trabalho mostra como as medições automáticas feitas pelo radar podem substituir as medições manuais por trena ...
