La cel de-al doilea link este un paragraf pe care eu îl consider lămuritor:

„[Obligaţiunile] Fiind hartii de valoare ***negarantate***, firmele care le emit trebuie sa aiba o reputatie nestirbita si sa se bucure de o incredere ferma -sa aiba un credit excelent.”

În ceea ce priveşte “mortgage bond”, traducerea în limba română ar fi „obligaţiune ipotecară”, un calc după franţuzescul „obligation hypothécaire”. Această traducere este menţionată, de exemplu, în „Lexiconul englez-român” de la Editura Economică.
