Este un numar folosit la alegerea subiectilor dintr-o lista. Adica daca pasul de selectie (sau pasul selectarii) este 6 dintr-o lista de 23 de oameni, vom alege oamenii cu numarul 1, 6, 12, 18. Este deci un termen specializat... pe care nu reusesc sa-l gasesc... :D
