I wish I could give some context but that's all I currently have. Seems that the problem is that this creature (should it be as is) belongs to Slavic folklore - thus making it very difficult to find any correspondence in English. BTW I found Scandinavian "mylings" (!) and "maras", and I liked these very much. However, it seems the person who asked me to make this translation being a translator herself prefers "baby ghoul" (thanks, a05!), and as for the fact it sounds "goofy" (thanks, Sophia :) ) - I feel it *almost* ok, nevermind - rather typical for computer games. Serge, I think you may be better off just providing a description of the above creature, given that you may not be able to find an exact evivalent in English-speaking cultures, if your goal is the exact meaning.

You won't be able to find the exact translation when dealing with folklore, since obviously very nation has its own supersitions and mystical creatures. You need a reasonable equivalent. I begin to think that despite Pushkin, "vampire" isn't it, after all
