Russian term

бумаги, являющиеся предметом указанного Договора

Russian to English Bus/Financial Law: Contract(s)
Продавец уступил Покупателю, а Покупатель принял за цену приобретения, которая была определена в п. ... Договора от ..., ценные бумаги, являющиеся предметом указанного Договора.
Хотелось сказать "subject Agreement", но как состыковать с бумагами, **являющимися**?

Discussion

Maksym Kozub Jul 23, 2004:
(continuing my previous note) And if there would be "предмет" in the proper legal meaning (e.g., "купля-продажа ценных бумаг"), then I would agree to Jack's first variant ("object") for contracts based on civil law.

Not "equities", since they might be e.g. bonds. OK, if in your particular agreement they are equities, then you may say so, but I would still prefer to avoid, as a matter of trasnslation, narrowing the meaning based on the broader contexr of the agreement
Jack Doughty Jul 22, 2004:
"...that are the subject of..." Otherwise I think it's OK.
Non-ProZ.com Jul 22, 2004:
Ok. The last question. Does it sound English?
"The Seller has ceded to the Buyer and the Buyer has accepted for the price of purchase stipulated by item ... of the Agreement ... dd. ... the equities (securities) that are subject of the reference Agreement."
Any corrections are welcome.
Jack Doughty Jul 22, 2004:
So "of the agreement referred to" or "of the agreement in question".
Non-ProZ.com Jul 22, 2004:
So "hereof" does not fit either.
(Misprint: "have", not "hace")
Non-ProZ.com Jul 22, 2004:
Sorry, I might hace misled you. Or I just need to clarify something.
1. To Kurt. They are not documents. They are " ". In my context = securities.
2. To Irene and Jack. This is not THE agreement that was in the previous questions. It is an Act confirming the agreement has been complied with and everybody's happy. Hence I can not use "this" in the context. I assumed the references to the agreement in this sentence (e.x. the word "") hinted as much.
Sorry again.

thereof / therein

If "hereof" won't do, how about "thereof"?

"the securities which are the object thereof" - assuming that the word предмет/object has some legal significance.

Alternatively, "to which the (said) Agreement refers" or "referred to in that agreement", "referred to therein".
