Russian term or phrase:

over-the-air TV channels

Explanation:
It seems to me that this means channels which are received without cable, satellite, or fiber optic means. "On-air" and "broadcast" suggest to me that there can be "off-air" or "non-broadcast" TV channels.

Maybe "over-the-air" is an American term? I'd welcome feedback from those who live in other English-speaking countries. I'm curious now to find out if my translation is just an "Americanism"

agree  Jim Tucker (X): this is certainly good; whether there are other expressions is another issue. "On-air" may be ambiguous.
