Russian term or phrase: fakul'tetskaya khirurgiya & subordinator na kafede
Is there a commonly accepted way of translating into English the word 'fakul'teskaya' (e.g. fakul'tetskaya khirurgiya) in a medical school transcript. "Theoretical"?
Same for 'subordinator na kafedre'
Thanks!

English translation:Course of Surgery obligatory to students of that faculty
Explanation:
One know that in Russia medical institutes are preparing student on different faculties. Faculty Surgery (course) means the obligatory course of syrgery for a faculty (eg, of stomatology, therapy, etc.). A person admitted after graduation to a medical chair (with partial academic duties) is called ordinator. As for subordinator, this means a person on preultimate year of a complete Master of Medicine Academic Curriculum. Thus, a subordinator is a person who already has the basic medical formation completed and is specializing at a Chair for posterior year of so-called "internature'.
Please take into account rather different academic curricula in medical higher schools in USA, Germany, Russia etc.
This terms usually are used in filling academic certificates concerning courses attended and approved in a medical faculty (not college!).

Theory of Surgical Care, Research Assistant (TA)

Explanation:
Fakultetskaya means that you're studying the subject matter in an academic setting. The most appropriate translation to denote that is to have "Theory of..." . Also, depending on what exactly you studied you may choose either "Surgical Care" of "Surgery" for "khirurgiya". If your "subordinatura" involved teaching basic classes to undegraduates, then you'd be a "Teaching Assistant". If you were working on some sort of a paper (research) and also performed some administrative functions at the department (facultet), then it would be more appropriate to call yourself "Research Assistant for such-and-such Department". The translations I'm suggesting are commonplace in the U.S. academic circles. Hope this helps ...

Surgery II and Assitent-Resident of the Cathdera

Explanation:
In Russian medical schools, the subject of Surgery lasts 3 years; on second year it is called "faculteskaya khirurgia.
Subordinator na kafedrie - in the USA: Assistent-Resident
In the UK: House Officer of the Cathedra.
In both cases, a very low job, just for a recently qualified, or about to graduate doctor.
