A church where generations of believers prayed
Explanation:
The term "namolennyi" is applied to churches, icons and such things. "Namolennaya" icon is valued much more than one just painted, for example. There is a strong belief that a place where people pray a lot becomes holier, so to say.

A church where (some) generation(s) of people payed (with a strong believe).

Explanation:
Such a place (not only a church!) is called "namolennoye". It is a custom to consider "namolennye mesta" (say, well-payed or deeply payed places) as those where one can expect an influence of many sincere souls payed for God.

Note that earlier this term was used mostly by clergy and ordinary people. But now its use grows due to more frequent exploration for explaining the charismatic influence of such places.
