Yes, I did realize this, and intended to put something like "Traces ... were erased from the memory". The only reason I put this in was because I had never seen the word "памятийный" before, couldn't trace it and didn't think it looked like a simple misprint for "памятный". But I guess it has to be a printer's error after all.

I think it's not "памятийные следы " but "памятные следы". RE:
