French point/continental European sizing
Explanation:
Paris point

The Paris point, or (Continental) European sizing, was introduced by the French in the mid-19th century; today, it’s the standard shoe sizing system in Europe, with the exception of England. This unit of measurement is based upon the individual stitch length used in double stitching; each stitch is two-thirds of a centimetre long (6.67 mm). Sizes begin with a children’s size 15, which corresponds to 10 centimetres, and end with a men’s size 50 (33.3 centimetres). As a general rule, half-sizes aren’t available. The difference between consecutive sizes is always 6.67 mm.

Length unit

The following length units are commonly used today to define shoe-size systems:
Shoe Sizing Systems
Millimeter (mm)
Centimeter (cm) = 10 mm
Paris point = 2/3 cm = 6.67 mm
Barleycorn = 1/3 inch = 8.47 mm
Continental Europe

In France, Germany, and most other European countries, the traditional shoe size is the length of the last, measured in Paris points. For shoe types where the last is 20 mm longer than the foot for which the shoe will fit:

shoe size = (foot length + 20 mm) / 6.67 mm
