Мне бы хотелось уточнить как в таких случаях можно перевести слово "прогрев":
1....способ не обеспечивает однородность прогрева слябов.
2. ...необходимость более полного прогрева слябов по сечению.
3. ...за более длительное время сляб интенсивнее прогревается по сечению...

Definition of soaking:
In heat treating of metals, prolonged holding at a selected temperature to effect homogenization of structure or composition. See also homogenizing.

So soaking, soaking, is soaked.....
