wheel of laugh (park ride or circus attraction) Explanation: 1) I think you are correct. It is a park ride od side-show or attraction in circus: Еще было "Колесо смеха" - круг, установленный в центре зала с мягкими бортиками. Желающие усаживались на него, и он начинал крутиться, похожий на огромную пластинки. Фокус был в том, чтобы удержаться на этом колесе до конца аттракциона. (Wheel with soft boarders installed in the center of the hall start turning like a gigant gramophone disk. Goal was to keep oneself on it up to the end of attraction.)The secret is to be near the center. http://www.vts.spb.ru/PAGES/12/namedny.htm 2) Also Russian humorous newspaper http://www.oda.ru/whatnew/issues/IWSHV.HTM 3) Instrument of torture http://www.zavtra.ru/cgi/veil/data/zavtra/00/362/51.html etc. But I do not know how does it called in English. Maybe "wheel oh laugh" or something like that. Serge Roshchin [email protected] |
